The Challenge

Coho AI is a Tech Startup that specializes in building customized AI-powered user journeys for mobile applications based on the user's behavior and activity.

With the latest advancements in AI technology, Coho AI significantly grew its customer base, which in turn scaled its cloud environments as it was required to analyze more customer data and produce more customized user journeys.

As their cloud footprint grew and scaled, so did their infrastructure costs, which directly affected the profitability of their product.

Eventually, the engineering leadership strategically decided that migrating to GCP was the ideal solution for them as they got an excellent offer, which would significantly reduce their infrastructure costs and help them scale efficiently.

When Coho began planning the migration, they quickly realized the overhead and toll it would take on the DevOps team.

Migrating from one cloud provider to another requires special planning and dedicated personnel continuously and precisely working on replicating cloud environments from scratch.

The engineering leadership at Coho AI decided to look for a partner to help them plan and execute the migration in the most efficient, quickest, and safest way possible. A friend introduced them to Opsfleet.

Coho AI chose Opsfleet to lead the migration process because of the team's experience, professionalism, and solid personal connection from Day 1.

What we’ve done

The Solution

After onboarding and learning their cloud environments, the Opsfleet team of DevOps experts started to plan the migration.

The migration from AWS to GCP consisted of these milestones:

  • Understanding the technical migration requirements
  • Outline deliverables, project goals, and timelines.
  • Provide a high-level design of the proposed infrastructure on GCP.

After the project's scope was approved, Opsfleet engineers began lifting and shifting cloud resources from AWS to GCP according to the design.

Because of the matter's sensitivity, Opsfleet was in close communication daily with Coho AI's engineers, which made the migration process very productive and efficient, with no loose ends.

After Opsfleet completed building the new GCP infrastructure, both teams met and "flipped the switch" to start running their workloads on GCP infrastructure.

Opsfleet trained and guided Coho AI on the new infrastructure and provided continuous support to ensure that everything was working well and according to plan.

Results

The Outcome

With the help of Opsfleet engineers, Coho AI could seamlessly and swiftly shift its workloads from AWS to GCP and now scale efficiently on its brand-new GCP infrastructure.

Migrating from one cloud provider to another is usually a startup's worst nightmare.
We chose Opsfleet to lead the migration because of my high trust in the team's ability to deliver it in the best way possible.
